Mark is the owner of True Blue and a barber for 12 years. Mark's background is in men's grooming, having worked at a popular Edmonton barbershop for a decade, he honed his craft on the hairstyles and beards of thousands of Edmontonians. Lately he has been expanding his skillset to encompass longer styles, razor cutting and creative cutting.  Mark loves to crack a joke and keep the vibes fun in the shop. Sharing the energy of the space with his co-workers and customers is priority #2. (Good haircutting is #1). Outside of work Mark is a passionate fan of the arts, especially music and film. Ask him what his latest obsession is, it is always changing.

For Kate, being graced with so many amazing customers over the last decades means the world to her. Having the opportunity to hear you, to create with you, and make you look and feel your best is what makes it all worth while for Kate. At True Blue, Kate relishes the opportunity to be her authentic self and to create a safe space where you can be yourself also. Kate loves to work on all types of hair, and has a special ability to create a calm atmosphere for the kiddos as well. Bring her your children!

Chad Clarke graduated from Vidal Sassoon academy in London England and has continued his professional development throughout his 9+ years in the hair industry continuing his education, taking classes with internationally recognized artists. Starting his career in Salons created a strong foundation for all skill sets and hair types. During this time he also found fulfilment in teaching his peers, helping them grow and watching them succeed. His passion for sharing knowledge and mentorship lead him to an educator role at the Canada school of Barbering for the past 2 years before finding his way home to the team at True Blue. Outside of work Chad enjoys spending time in nature, gardening, yoga and cooking. 

Don’t know what you want? Julia does. A second generation barber, with 18 years in the industry, she’s always had a passion for helping you feel your cutest. Originally from Edmonton, she may look familiar because her and Mark worked side-by-side a decade ago. After running her own shop in Saskatoon, she’s excited to bring her skills back home. In addition to barber services, Julia specializes in shags, bobs, curls, vivid colours, and gender affirming cuts. She’s also an educator at heart, having taught classes, mentored countless professionals and sparked confidence through sharing knowledge. When she’s not at True Blue, you’ll probably find Julia out on the town, unless she’s staying cozy inside with her three bad kitties.

Serena is an indigenous hair artist born and raised on Treaty 6 territory. Serena has a vested interest in precision cutting and creative colours. Having 8 years in the customer service industry, combined with 2 years in the hair industry, there is no doubt she will be able to suit your needs. Outside of work, Serena loves to hang with her cats, go to the gym and consume all forms of art and media. She also enjoys socializing with folks from all walks of life, exploring new scenes, and thrifting!

Liam is our shop apprentice. Liam is fairly new to barbering  with less than a year in the industry but what he lacks in experience he makes up for with enthusiasm and a desire to learn and improve his craft. Liam has a great passion for getting to know people so he can find you that perfect cut. Extracurricularly Liam enjoys "junk journaling" , exploring new music he normally wouldn't through cds and cruising around on his longboard.
